1936 Marx, Clockwork Mystic Motorcycle Cop, Version 1
Classic clockwork tin litho motorcycle cop complete with attached key. Originally advertised as a "tricky" motorcycle it's intended to run on a table top, stop, and turn before it goes over the edge. Two white "training" wheels (one toothed and the other smooth) move the vehicle forwards while a third perpendicular wheel underneath the cycle determines when to turn. The actual lithographed motorcycle wheels do not turn. This version of the Mystic Motorcycle features a blue uniformed cop with dark uniform and P.D. emblems shoulder emblems. A second version has blond hair and glasses. The cop figure and motorcycle are integrated as two halves tabbed together eliminating a separate motorcycle and a separate cop. The toy sold originally for 25¢. The key probably isn't original. Size: 4¼" long. Sold: Jan. 2017
